Kenic has fixed the issue. All .ke services have now resumed.
The nature and cause of the downtime is yet to be revealed. We will update with this information as soon as it is made available.

Hello,
This is to notify you that we are currently experiencing an issue with the registration and renewal of .ke domain names. The issue is at the central registry, Kenic.
Kenic are currently experiencing an issue and have promised they are working overtime to ensure this is resolved. We are in communication with them regarding the same and will will update you once this is resolved. It is not clear yet, what the exact issue is.
The issue affects all Registrars and at the moment, no .ke domain can be registered.
However, the domains remain online and .ke websites and emails should continue working well.
Affected services are:
- Registration of new .ke domains
- Renewal of .ke domains
- WHOIS services for .ke domains
- EPP services for .ke domains e.g updating domain nameservers, contact details etc.
Our other domains such as .com, .net, .org etc are working well and can be registered as alternatives for now.
We apologize for the much inconvenience this may cause you on your side.
We will update this page as issues are sorted from Kenic side.
