How To Install WordPress on an Addon Domain in Truehost

To be able to install any application on an addon domain, the addon domain should first be created and its nameservers registered in the Cpanel. This therefore creates a folder in the public-html where the installation can take place either through zipfiles or using the Softaculous App Installer in the Cpanel. Softaculous is highly prefferable due to its easy inbuilt features that simplify the installion and update process of the applications.

How to install WordPress on the addon Domain;

  • First login the Cpanel

  • Click on addon domain for a successful creation .
  • Locate the Softaculous App Installer in the Software section
  • Click on WordPress Installer
  • Fill in the details required in the textboxes, and at the domain area, choose the addon domain from the dropdown box.The admin password is important for login in the WordPress dashboard. The admin email is the email where important details get sent such as a reset of password. As for the directory its where the database gets created.

On the advanced option area, you can enable plugins, backup and other options available. The site name option and description can always be changed in the dashboard thereafter.

  • Click install and the progress of installation will take place until a message pops showing that WordPress was successfully installed.
